Andy’s Robbie Williams, Rat Pack and Michael Buble Tribute shows have proven to be very popular for schools looking to put on fundraisers so I thought I’d share some of my experiences and case studies here for any schools or PTAs thinking of putting on an event.

Andy has performed at over 35 school fundraising events and we often get great feedback with the schools raising upwards of £5,000. As almost every school has its own hall, there’s no venue cost, and as we bring all of our own equipment you don’t need to worry about hiring bulky equipment. These nights will typically be organised by the PTA, selling tickets to parents in the school for anywhere from £10 – £20, you could even ask the parents to bring a dish each for buffet style dining, again saving on costs and getting the parents more involved.

Here’s a couple of case studies to help inspire your event:

Case Study: Great Totham Primary School

I have arranged several charity functions in the past and for the last two years and have organised events at Great Totham Primary School where I work as the office manager.

The last two school events were held in a marquee on the school field. It was attended on average by between 250 – 300 people arranged on tables around the stage and dance floor to enable everyone to have a great view of a brilliant act called Andy Wilsher Sings (a tribute to The Rat Pack, Michael Buble’ and Robbie Williams) who has perfected his show so that every mannerism was like the real thing!

There was a silent auction, a game of Heads & Tails and a raffle which enabled us to raise over £7,000 between the two years for the P.T.A. I would recommend Andy Wilsher Sings and this type of event to other schools and organisations.

Here are some of the advantages of booking this type of event;

  • You can use your own school as a venue (whether in a school hall or marquee).
  • You can keep advertising costs down by sending a letter out to parents via their children, sell tickets from the school office and get posters from the act. (Andy Wilsher supplied posters at no extra cost.)
  • Guests can bring their own food and drink. (This can range from sandwiches & crisps to ordering a take-away to be delivered to the school!)
  • Finally, not only is it a great way to raise funds for the P.T.A. but it’s a fun and lively social gathering for the parents and teachers.

Case Study: Ranelagh PTA

In April 2013 our school PTA booked ‘Andy Wilsher’ for ‘Ranelagh’s Evening with the Stars’ and what an evening it turned out to be.

Dealing with Jackie and Andy was easy and an absolute pleasure. Their attention to detail made us confident that the night would be a success even before we had started properly planning it. They sent out posters and gave advice on how to advertise the event. We opted for a Rat Pack set and then a Michael Buble set and it was just like the real performers were on stage.

We decided to have a bar and served a two course meal with coffee and mints. This was prepared and served from our own kitchen, further lowering the costs. Andy performed his Rat pack set whilst we had dinner and had set the mood after only a couple of songs getting us all to wave our napkins in the air to ‘That’s Amore’ and that was the start of everyone having a fabulous time.

The dance floor was never empty and the ambience created by Andy’s easy style of entertainment was just wonderful. We will certainly be inviting Andy back to Ranelagh to do another fundraising evening for the P.T.A. and we are positive it will be an absolute sell out as it was a great social night and a fantastic way to raise money for the school.

Ranelagh PTA cannot recommend this type of event highly enough if you want to have a fundraising night to remember, we certainly did.
