When you’re celebrating a special occasion, what matters is that you’re surrounded by the people you love. Party planning can become stressful for some and costs can spiral out of control. It’s important to remember what’s important!

We’ve compiled some helpful tips that might ease the strain when planning your next event…

1) The Venue

Hiring a venue can be costly and you may find it comes with all sorts of restrictions too. Specific closing times, preferred caterers, limitations regarding your decorations, and more. All things that could spoil some of your party plans! If you have the space, why not consider throwing a party in the comfort and privacy of your own home or garden. It’s a great way to put on a relaxed and fun celebration, without any restrictions or costly bills!

2) The Food

You don’t need to provide a sit down meal or hot buffet to keep your guests fulfilled. Your party – your food! Choose what you think would be appropriate and within budget. As long as you specify your plans on your initiations, then no one will arrive expecting otherwise. Mini-food, such as hot dogs, burgers and fish and chips can provide a novel and fun alternative to the norm. Or you could theme your buffet to add a little something extra. If you’re just going to offer nibbles and canapés, that’s fine – just let your guests know in advance so no one is left hungry!

3) The Drink

Many people feel pressured to provide a free bar, but depending on the number of guests you’re inviting and how hollow their drinking legs are, it could break the bank. If your event is being thrown at home, people will usually bring a bottle, meaning you don’t need to cater for every drink for every person. If using a venue, you could limit free drinks to a set amount of money or restrict the type or measures of alcohol you’ll pay for. Don’t feel under pressure to cover the bar bill – friends and family will be coming to help you celebrate and that’s the most important thing to remember.

4) The Music

We all know that the right music can make or break a party atmosphere. Handling the music yourself puts you under pressure on the night to make sure that everything is running correctly with no technical glitches. Do you really want to be thinking about changing playlists or CD’s when you should be up dancing? Andy Wilsher Sings offers an affordable solution to having live music at your party. You can choose from 1, 2 or 3 of our tribute acts, covering Robbie Williams, Michael Buble and The Rat Pack. We can include a fully-manned disco and even professional Show Girls if you like, but we can be flexible depending on your budget! If you’d just like 1 set to kick the evening off then that’s what we’ll do. Or if you’d rather choose a set or 2 as a grand finale once the party’s really got started, then that works well too.
